A Night In White for a Cure [Matching Gift Opportunity for Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation]

This year, amidst all the isolation and Zooming, I accepted the honor to serve as the Rising Community Leader in IBD for the New England Chapter of the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation. I am extremely humbled at this opportunity to work alongside emerging leaders in the New England community to lay the platform for a future free of Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, collectively known as Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD).

As you probably know, I have been deeply affected by ulcerative colitis and know firsthand how challenging these diseases can be for the 1 in 100 Americans living with IBD. I am proud to be honored at this year’s event along with New England’s Rising Healthcare Leader in IBD and serendipitously my amazing physician, Dr. Rachel Winter from Brigham & Woman’s Hospital.

As you can imagine, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, everything the Foundation has built is now at risk. The need for education and support in the Crohn’s and colitis community has skyrocketed, a 500% increase. Simultaneously, the Foundation is experiencing an all-time low in funding. This is by far the greatest challenge the Foundation has faced in its 50-year history. The financial impact of this pandemic has been tremendous.

In recognition of this critical need, a generous donor has offered to match every contribution to the Foundation up to a total of $1 million by May 15. Every dollar donated before May 15 is worth double.

My hope is that you will consider contributing to my fundraising efforts if you are able. I have set up a fundraising page here.

We are continuing to plan the Young Professional’s annual summer event for August 6, 2020 in the hopes of being able to celebrate together by then. If you are thinking of attending, please consider purchasing your ticket now as these funds will greatly support our immediate need.

Tickets are on sale here.

I have always been able to count on the Foundation and now the Foundation is counting on me. I ask you to join me in supporting them when they need it most by making a financial contribution today.

Thank you so much for your consideration. Every dollar donated is so deeply appreciated.
