All of us are aware of the many reasons why we must drink enough water throughout the day. At least 2-3 litres of water intake is recommended for an average adult. However, just the awareness is not enough to keep us fixed on our goal and to achieve it every day. Most of us end up not drinking enough water, end up chugging it in huge quantities by the end of the day to reach our goal, or just give up because it is too difficult. However, there are several ways you can make proper hydration easier, and a part of your lifestyle.

5 tips to ensure you drink enough water through the day

Set water reminders – There are a number of mobile apps that serve the purpose, and can be installed on your phone for free. They help you set reminders on your water intake. You are likely to be around your phone all day, and therefore, it can be a great way to remember to drink water.

Drink water as the first thing in the morning – Another great way to ensure you drink enough water is to hydrate your body, first thing in the morning. The body is dehydrated as you have not consumed water for the last 8-9 hours when you were sleeping. Sit in your bed with a big bottle of water, and only get up once you are finished with it. This helps to achieve almost half of your goal for the day by the first few minutes of the morning itself, making it easier for the rest of the day.

Get yourself a big bottle – A big bottle or jug that can contain enough water for the day can do the trick for you if refilling your bottle in the middle of the day is the reason you do not end up drinking enough water. Get a bottle that can hold at least 3 litres of water, and keep pouring from it into your glass every once in a while. You can fill this bottle up in the morning once, and you are done for the day.

Have a glass of water before your meals – You can ensure to drink enough water by drinking at least a glass, around 20 minutes before each of your meals. This helps to fill you up and ensures you do not overeat, which also helps in weight loss. If you drink a glass of water before each of your meals, you are likely to achieve your goal for the day much conveniently. 

Carry your water wherever you go – You cannot obviously carry the big bottle wherever you go. However, you must keep a handy water bottle with you at all times. This ensures you drink enough water, without the fear of contracting infections due to contaminated water. Keeping a water bottle handy at all times can help you stay hydrated throughout the day.
