Piers Morgan said he is 16 stone after 6 meals a day but Eamonn Holmes has inspired his weight loss plan.
Good Morning Britain’s breakfast star, 55, has gone from mocking Eamonn as a “telly tubby” to making him his “fitness model” for 2021.
Early starts have made Piers ravenous and he’s put on a stone since he started working for Good Morning Britain in 2014.
“New year, new me”, it’s no wonder the outspoken TV personality has decided to embark on a fitness journey.
At the moment, his catalogue of meals includes everything from porridge to a hearty lunch.
Piers’ wife Celia has to “lock away” the biscuit tin or the snacking commences before dinner time.
He wrote in his Daily Mail column : “My Good Morning Britain day regime is usually porridge and honey at 5.30am, Marmite on toast at 7.30am, eggs and something when I get home at 9.15am, possibly another sandwich snack at 11am, and a hearty lunch at 12.30pm.
“By 5pm I’m slumped on the sofa like a zombie waiting for dinner. As a result, I now weigh 16st, a stone more than when I started at GMB.”
Previously Piers mocked Eamonn for being a “Telly-Tubby” but now he’s fashioned him his fitness model.
The breakfast TV star vowed to weigh the same as his TV star pal by the end of 2021.
He said: “I’m not really into making new year’s resolutions and I find the notion of doing Veganuary and Dry January particularly preposterous during another lockdown.
“The former ‘Telly-Tubby’ has gone from being the object of my fat-mockery to my fitness role model. So my resolution is to weigh the same as Eamonn Holmes by the end of 2021.”
Also, Piers shared his weight loss struggles with his 1.3million followers on Instagram.
The broadcast star admitted his wife Celia was cooking up a storm to help him trim off the “lockdown lard”.
He wrote: “I like sushi, don’t get me wrong. But more as a canapé than a lose-the-lockdown-lard ‘dinner’. cc @celia.walden.”
